I Was A Spy! is a memoir written by Marthe McKenna, detailing her experiences as a spy during World War I. Born in Belgium, McKenna was recruited by the British Secret Service to gather intelligence on German troop movements and report back to her superiors. She posed as a nurse and traveled throughout Belgium, often risking her life to gather information. McKenna's bravery and cunning allowed her to successfully transmit important information to the Allies, and she was eventually awarded the Military Medal for her service. The book provides a firsthand account of the dangers and challenges faced by spies during the war, as well as insights into the complex political and social dynamics of the time. It is a gripping and inspiring story of courage, resilience, and patriotism. This is a new release of the original 1933 edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
