Author's Note

At the beginning of 2025, I was set to be a first-time father,

and I wanted to express the joyous gift God had given me.

So, I decided to write a letter to my son, telling him how

happy, excited, and anxious I was to welcome him into my life.

What originated was something short and sweet but straight

from the heart. Then, I had the crazy idea of transforming the

words to my son into a children's book. I gave great

consideration on how I wanted the illustrations to be. I

determined that they had to be simple. My vision for the

illustrations was that the art should enhance the words without

overtaking their significance. I want the reader's imagination

to take over and create their own meaning using the essence

of the words and illustrations.

First-time father Juan Reynoso's I Love You is a beautifully crafted, intentional, and loving dedication to opening up your heart and the joy of paternal adoration. There are many books on the subject of love, particularly the love between mother and child (classics like Roger Knapp's Love You Forever quite readily spring to mind).
