Fiona says she's OK, but it's not the truth. After losing her grandpa, her best friend moving away, and her parents' divorce, she hides her feelings, hoping they'll disappear. But the sadness only grows heavier.
Through beautifully illustrated pages, I Lied follows Fiona's journey as she struggles with sadness, loss, and the pressure to hide her true emotions. Whether it's pretending she's okay after losing her grandpa, hiding her heartbreak when her best friend moves away, or staying silent about her parents' divorce, Fiona learns that suppressing feelings only makes them heavier.
But with the kindness of others, the comfort of faith, and the power of truth, Fiona discovers that healing begins when we allow ourselves to be honest. As she learns to express her emotions, she finds peace, support, and, most importantly, the strength to say, I'm okay-and truly mean it.
A must-read for children and families, this touching story encourages open conversations about emotions, loss, and the courage it takes to be vulnerable. Perfect for ages 5-12, I Lied is an uplifting reminder that it's okay to feel, okay to grieve, and okay to seek comfort.
