With dragons, a pirate (complete with a hook),
Some ninjas, and monsters, oh no, I feel weak!
I won't! You can't make me! Okay, just a peek . . .
I Don't Want To! is the children's story of a determined little girl who just doesn't want to do what she's asked, thank you very much! But with the help of her father and a little imagination, dull, everyday activities transform into exciting adventures like exploring jungles, riding dinosaurs, and protecting spaceships!
Children are constantly being told what to do, and that can be frustrating. I Don't Want To! gives grandparents and parents the gentle reminder to make things fun for children by inviting them to use their imaginations. Children internalize the lesson that they can make their lives better through play.
I Don't Want To! is written by Joseph Maxfield (Ninjas Need Love) with rhyming verse and a surprise ending, with beautiful, full page illustrations by Nate Anderson (Boy and Dog Comic). I Don't Want To! is a book the whole family can read again and again!
Praise for I Don't Want To!: This book focuses on the technique of using imagination to turn mundane, everyday experiences into fun. I love that it teaches children that they have the power to control the situations they are in as well as their attitude. I also appreciate that the format goes through several applicable examples (such as having to go to school) that children can relate to.- BookNerdMommy.com Children's books by Joseph Maxfield:
