Do you know why Jewish holidays seem to move around the calendar? Why does Shabbat start on Friday evening?
Do you know you have a Hebrew birthday? Do you know your Hebrew birth month ...and why it's so wonderful?

Long ago, your Jewish ancestors used an incredible calendar to guide their lives. It wasn't just a way to mark the days-it helped them follow the cycles of the sun and moon, understand the changing seasons, and connect with the plants, the animals, and the world around them in ancient Israel!

They used their amazing calendar to celebrate holidays, track family events, plan festivals, and figure out the best times to plant crops-or fall in love! This is the story of the Jewish Calendar-the story of how the Hebrew tribes organized their lives through 1,000,000 sunsets and 40,000 full moons. It's also the story of how we're still going-how ha'am yisrael will be here for at least 1,000,000 more sunsets.

Come explore the year through Jewish eyes.
