A family is involved in a violent altercation with members of a White supremacy gang. Following the death of one of the members, three of the family members are convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to time in prison.
After serving seven and a half years of incarceration, the protagonist is released; however, the place he once called home is no longer familiar to him. Relationships have changed. People have changed. Betrayal, jealousy, and sorrow have become common occurrences in his life.
Distraught, lonely, and confused, the protagonist discovers that home is not the safe haven that he had dreamed. As with life in prison, he places his faith in the Creator as he navigates his way through a living hell.
