It's 1998, and Kieron Murphy has just started at a local cable TV channel. He has been assigned to work on a show called 'The Departed', which is all about horror, ghosts, and UFOs. Kieron isn't interested in the paranormal, he just wants a job. He has just left college and has bills to pay. However, when he receives a letter from a man called John, telling him about the dark entities that haunt his life, Kieron thinks that this will make a perfect story and pitches it to his producer. His producer gives the green light for the interview. So the team travel to Northumberland to interview John. The presenter for the show, Paul, is a diva. He is a key authority on everything paranormal, and Kieron can't stand him. But when they arrive at John's creepy cottage, the gates to hell are opened.
