STUDENTS MASTER IMPORTANT CONVERSATIONAL GRAMMAR FIRST!
This book builds a powerful foundation in the most common grammatical patterns so students can form sentences right away. The student can expect to master the use of is/are/would/can/want/go, etc. through literally hundreds of applications. From there new vocabulary is formed around these commonly used words so students gain skill in speaking. There is no memorization of long boring, scattered lists (such as kitchen words, sport words, hospital words, etc.) and dry, unconnected grammatical rules which leave a student frustrated and helpless when in an English conversational situation. Each lesson contains instructional prompts in bold print which you read to the student. These prompts are in basic Spanish and as the course progresses, they will be given more and more in English so the student becomes immersed in English. You simply read prompts, and the student answers you. If he's right, go on to the next line. If he's not, correct him so he says it correctly. It's as simple as that. If you can't read the basic Spanish prompt, don't worry. Just have the student read it while you cover up the answer on the right side. If the student says the answer correctly, move to the next line. If not, correct him. Then go to the next line. That's all there is to it. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ephrain Tristan Ortiz is a graduate of UC Davis, National University and Andersonville Theological Seminary. He holds a Doctorate in Christian Education (DCEd) and has taught English as a Second Language to adults and children over a period of 20 years through schools under the Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties Offices of Education as well as through his private company, the De La Vega Language Institute. He has published 20 books, several of which are English language instructional books. He currently works as an author and adjunct professor of Biblical Hebrew for the Christian Biblical Languages Institute in South Santa Clara County.
