The author is a senior US citizen, a professional architect and urban planner. His experience in urban planning projects convinced him of the power of systematic planning in identifying and addressing all sorts of issues. Furthermore, he realized the merits of widening the scope of planning to cover the widest possible context, both in space and parameters covered. This particular realization prompted him to investigate the possibility of applying a rigorous strategic planning approach to identify and address global problems. He focuses attention on addressing current issues in the USA since they have global consequences. The book explains the process by which he conceived his views, and presents proposals for action to the reader for consideration.
