How Little Things Matter reflects the next step in Jason Holt's ongoing poetic investigation of the expressive potential of unusual linguistic forms. The poems here range from terse plays on familiar idioms to layered meditations on selective ambiguity as a source of aesthetic rewards, both fleeting and sustained. From light wordplay to unusual syntax, from rhythmic variation to suggestive repetition, the elements of Holt's signature style are here on full display.

Jason Holt lives in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with his wife Megan and their cats Ruby, Jasper, and Tia. He is Professor of Kinesiology at Acadia University, where he teaches communication and various courses in the philosophy of physical culture. His research focuses on diverse topics in philosophy, aesthetics, and the meaning of human movement. His most recent scholarly book is An Introduction to the Philosophy of Leisure (2025). His literary works published by Anaphora include Up Against Beyond: Selected Poems, 1994-2017 (2017) and most recently the multiple award-winning screenplay The Professor's Outline (2025).
