Bucky was a Freudenberg. He really wasn't a Bucky, but he definitely was a Freudenberg. He was really a Kenneth but rare was heard the name Kenneth when referring to Bucky, except when his cowboy father pretended to be angry with him. Bucky's dad, Dave, never grew fist fighting, irate at Bucky or Bucky's close circle of friends. The worst Dave Freudenberg could manage was miffed. When Bucky's dad was miffed, he could never use Kenneth without making up a string of fake names to attach to Kenneth. It was almost as if those added names were Dave Freudenberg's way of counting to ten! Kenneth Henry Edward Albert Phinneas Ferdinand Charles, or Kenneth Marcus Aldo Edmund Michael Brandon Mitchell, roared across the prairie with a hint of laughter hidden in a dust devil of consequences. His attempt at hiding a giggle within his disciplinary tone is how we knew Dave Freudenberg was miffed and not tobacco-spittin', cowboy hat-sliddin', leg chap-tottin', goat ropin' angry. Bucky was a Freudenberg. Bucky was a friend, and his father couldn't stay angry at him, or us, for long.
