When I set off to write House of the butterfly and many of the other poems in this book I never intended to share them with anyone. Much less publish then as a book. The works in this collection were brought to life as a way for me to live my life. They were sort of a self-therapy. With the support of many friends and family I decided to publish House of the butterfly and other improperly written rhyme. The name comes from the raw nature of these words. None of the writings in this book were meant to be anything than what they were when they were first born. That combined with the title poem House of the butterfly equals this book's title.
