An Hour With David Brainerd is a biography written by Walter McCleary about the life and missionary work of David Brainerd, who dedicated himself to spreading Christianity among Native American communities in the 18th century. The book provides a detailed account of Brainerd's life, from his childhood in Connecticut to his years spent living among various tribes, including the Delaware, Mohican, and Susquehanna, where he preached and established churches. The author also delves into Brainerd's struggles with illness and depression, and how these challenges impacted his work. The book is a tribute to Brainerd's legacy as a pioneer of missionary work in America and his commitment to sharing the gospel with those who had not yet heard it. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of Christianity in America, as well as for those interested in the intersection of religion and culture. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
