Rev. Dr. Kevin S. Golden offers an astute commentary on Hosea. He works through Hosea's notoriously difficult Hebrew, illuminating the prophet's fortitude both in his marriage and as he watched his homeland decay from within. The commentary follows a clear trajectory as Hosea draws from the Torah (especially Deuteronomy), with the fulfillment of Hosea's proclamation being found in Jesus Christ. Each section closes with a theological application that is not exhaustive of the text but offers a direction forward for preaching and teaching that text. Commentary is broken into (1) Superscription, (2) Hosea's Family Reveals Yahweh's Family, (3) The First Presentation of Yahweh's Covenant Lawsuit, and (4) Conclusion.
