Old cowboys and an ambitious sixteen-year-old eventer, Pony Club and 4H leaders, English and Western hobby riders, and a Grand Prix rider are among the horse lovers featured in this collection of memoirs, The Horse Brings You Home. Sixteen people recount their adventures and misadventures with horses in and out of the saddle. They talk about philosophy and training methods; they theorize about horse health problems; they ponder creative ways to keep riding with the limitations that come with age, injury, health problems, and financial pressures. Their stories are at once endearing and educational, humorous and heartbreaking, and full of reverence for the beauty of horses.
