Young Hannah has dealt with hearing loss her entire childhood, and it's made her feel different and out-of-place around her friends. Realizing she needs extra help, Hannah's parents decide to adopt an adorable orange puppy, which they lovingly call Hopper, to be by Hannah's side.

Hopper fits right into the family from the start. And with the help of a trainer, Hopper learns different tasks so she can be Hannah's Hearing Alert Dog, like recognizing high-pitched sounds, such as fire alarms, that Hannah can't hear. If Hopper can learn to alert Hannah to those particular sounds, she could save Hannah's life and be a safe space for her. Hopper must learn to master these skills to become the best possible service dog for Hannah.
