About HOOFBEATS ON HER HEART Marcie is the object of scorn and ridicule for the most popular group of girls in her seventh grade. Her clothes are hand-me-downs and she lives on the wrong side of town in a shabby house. HOOFBEATS ON HER HEART is about Marcie growing up with a horse changing her life. Peaches is the Tennessee Walking Horse mare that becomes Marcie's only friend. Because of Peaches and her owner, Mr. Ted, and Moonie, Peaches' foal, Marcie is soon successful in the horse show ring. However, the school bullying gets worse when girls begin to interact with boys at school. A surprising confrontation ends Marcie's problems with the other girls. A second surprise shows her how her adult life will develop. For girls who love horses, this book offers an insight into the show horse world. It talks about the bullies prevalent in today's schools. It offers strength for how to be the best you can be in spite of your problems.
