Is the Holy Spirit the key to everything good and right for the abundant Christian life?
Pentecostals and Charismatics of the twentieth century taught, practiced, and institutionalized many Holy Spirit things: some good, some bad, some built the church of Jesus Christ, and some hurt and tore down Christians. Now in the twenty-first century, many successful churches, pastors, and Christians are hesitant, skittish, and even standoffish when it comes to the Holy Spirit.
But Paul exhorted all Christians not to be ignorant concerning Holy Spirit things. You can have a warm, comfortable, constant relationship with the Holy Spirit. Baptism with the Holy Spirit can give you power to minister. Speaking in tongues can build you up inside. Walk with me as we work through the Scriptures to become informed participants in God's Holy Spirit plans.
In Holy Ghost Primer your questions will be answered...
- How can I have a close, intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit?
- Holy Spirit people seem to do so many weird things. Can I really have an intimate friendship with the Holy Spirit without all the weird stuff?
- Is it possible to live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and do it in such a way that it is decent and orderly, and builds everyone up?
- Do I have to be baptized with the Holy Spirit?
- Is speaking in tongues a genuine Holy Spirit phenomenon, or just phony, emotional stuff?
- Are the gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as healing and prophecy, for the church today? Or did they cease back in the first century?
- Is all of God inside of me, or just the Holy Spirit? Is the Holy Spirit one-third of God?
- And so much more!
I have known my friend, Reed Tibbetts, for thirty-six years. I am convinced that Reed is a man of absolute integrity. He is a diligent student of the Bible. He is comfortable in his relationship with the Holy Spirit. I am anticipating further Biblical teachings from Reed Tibbetts. --Richard C. Benjamin Sr., Apostle and Founding Pastor of Abbott Loop Christian Center, Anchorage, Alaska
Reed Tibbetts has served for over twenty-three years as an ordained pastor and teacher, and is currently serving as one of the elders of VLife Church in McKinney, Texas, where he ministers as a prophet and teacher. An honored and decorated disabled veteran of the Vietnam War, Reed is a graduate of Northwest University of the Assemblies of God. Over the many years he has pursued the goal of handling accurately the word of truth, and has developed a reputation as a guardian of apostolic doctrine (the teachings of the apostles). Through the years Reed has written and printed many teaching notebooks in the churches he has served, but only recently has he turned to the writing and publishing of books for the greater body of Christ. Reed lives in Princeton, Texas with his wife of forty-six years. They have three adult children and four grandchildren, all of whom are faithfully serving the Lord in their respective local churches.
