A Historical Survey Of Algebraic Methods Of Approximating The Roots Of Numerical Higher Equations Up To The Year 1819 is a book written by Martin Andrew Nordgaard and published in 1922. The book provides a comprehensive historical overview of algebraic methods used to approximate the roots of numerical higher equations up until the year 1819. It delves into the various techniques used by mathematicians throughout history, including the work of ancient Greek mathematicians like Euclid and Diophantus, as well as the contributions of Renaissance-era mathematicians like Cardano and Ferrari. The book also covers the development of new methods during the 18th and 19th centuries, including the use of complex numbers and the development of the theory of equations. Overall, A Historical Survey Of Algebraic Methods Of Approximating The Roots Of Numerical Higher Equations Up To The Year 1819 is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of mathematics and the development of algebraic methods for solving complex equations. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
