Writing is an important part of exploring and depicting human-civilization. Ever since humans discovered writing, it has become an important means of communication. A way of writing an alphabet is called a script. Writing is one of the great inventions of man. It is very essential to get true knowledge of history and culture of any country. Human history is considered to have begun since the ancient Abhileykh was received. History is formed based on ancient pictorial instruments inscribed in various scripts.This book covers the stages of script development in the world and in India, classification of scripts, similarities between different types of scripts, leading scripts of the world, origin and development of Harappi Brahmi, Kharosthi etc. scripts of India, twists of letters of North Indian and South Indian scripts derived from Brahmi script, engraved in those scripts. An attempt has been made to provide interesting information on many issues such as ancient inscriptions, classically with pictorial diagrams of scripts.
