Historical Notes of the Counties of Glamorgan, Carmarthen and Cardigan is a book written by John Rowlands and originally published in 1866. The book provides a detailed account of the history, geography, and culture of these three counties in Wales. The book is divided into three parts, with each part focusing on one of the counties. The first part covers Glamorgan, which was one of the most important counties in Wales during the Middle Ages. Rowlands provides a detailed account of the county's history, including its early settlements, the arrival of the Normans, and the development of the coal industry in the 19th century. The second part of the book focuses on Carmarthen, which is located in southwest Wales. Rowlands provides an overview of the county's geography, including its rivers, mountains, and coastline. He also discusses the county's history, including its role in the Norman Conquest and the Welsh Wars of the 12th and 13th centuries. The final part of the book covers Cardigan, which is located in west Wales. Rowlands provides a detailed account of the county's history, including its role in the Welsh Wars of the 12th and 13th centuries, and its importance as a center for the wool trade in the Middle Ages. Overall, Historical Notes of the Counties of Glamorgan, Carmarthen and Cardigan is an important historical resource for anyone interested in the history and culture of Wales. Rowlands' detailed accounts of the counties provide a valuable insight into the development of these regions over time. And A List Of The Members Of Parliament For South Wales, From Henry VIII, To Charles II.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
