A History Of The Parish Of Trinity Church In The City Of New York delves into the tenure of Dr. John Henry Hobart as rector, covering the period from February 1816 to August 1830. This meticulously researched account offers insights into the development and challenges faced by Trinity Church during a pivotal era in its history. The book explores the religious, social, and political contexts that shaped the church's role in the burgeoning metropolis of New York City.
Charles Thorley Bridgeman and Clifford P. Morehouse chronicle Hobart's leadership, examining his influence on the church's doctrines, its relationship with the community, and its architectural and institutional growth. This volume serves as a valuable resource for historians, theologians, and anyone interested in the history of New York City and the Episcopal Church's impact on American society.
