The History of His Own Time offers a unique perspective on the political and diplomatic events of the late 17th and early 18th centuries through the eyes of Matthew Prior, a prominent English poet and diplomat. Compiled from Prior's original manuscripts, revised by himself, and prepared for publication, this historical work provides invaluable insights into the era's key players and significant moments.
This edition, edited by J. Banks, presents a meticulously prepared account that captures Prior's personal reflections and observations. Readers will gain a deeper understanding of the complex political landscape of the time and the intricacies of diplomatic negotiations. The History of His Own Time remains a valuable resource for historians and anyone interested in British history and political thought.
