What if some discoveries are dangerous simply because they happened too soon?
When an advanced plasma experiment produces a result that should be impossible, doctoral researcher Evan Mercer expects his mentor to be excited. Instead, Professor Adrian Kade is terrified.
Kade has spent months secretly investigating a disturbing pattern among scientists working at the edges of plasma physics, magnetic reconnection, propulsion, gravity, artificial intelligence, and other technologies capable of reshaping the future. Some died. Some disappeared. Others abruptly walked away from research they had pursued for decades.
Kade believes the pattern is real. Then he becomes part of it.
The evidence surrounding his disappearance is convincing. Almost too convincing.
Evan turns to investigative journalist Maya Rhee, an intelligent, conspiracy-addicted professional troublemaker who has been following the same disappearances from a completely different direction. Maya has an uncomfortable talent for finding connections people would prefer to leave buried, a weakness for sweets and parrots, and an alarming habit of hugging people when she first meets them. She once nearly got arrested for trying it with a president.
Together they begin comparing Kade's research with forgotten scientific papers, classified government records, UAP investigations, unexplained technological developments, and memories of events that apparently never happened.
Again and again, two references appear where they should not. P-47. P-52.
Nobody will explain what they mean. People who ask the wrong questions and people who discover the right answers have a tendency to disappear.
As Evan and Maya move deeper into Kade's investigation, they encounter a possibility more disturbing than any government conspiracy: the history they trust may not be as stable as it appears, and somebody has been paying very close attention to the scientists capable of discovering why.
The deeper they investigate, the harder it becomes to answer one simple question:
Was Kade trying to hide from whoever was changing the rules-or had he already learned how to change them himself?
History Engineers: P-47 / P-52 is an intelligent science-fiction thriller built around real scientific ideas involving plasma physics, magnetic reconnection, advanced propulsion, artificial intelligence, UAP investigations, consciousness, and the Mandela Effect.
For readers who enjoy scientific mysteries, classified files, conspiracy thrillers, hidden history, impossible technology, and stories where solving the mystery may be considerably more dangerous than leaving it alone.
