This story is inspired by the 1995 discovery of the prehistoric site of GOBEKLI TEPE, the oldest temple in the world. At the dawn of civilization in the Fertile Crescent, long ago, men would shut themselves away during the new moon-when the moon disappears completely from the night sky-because a terrible demon would materialize on Earth to steal the souls of the most vulnerable.
Pakousane, a young man who has lost his mother, flees from his father, who forces him to work with him as a stone breaker and cave driller.
Leaving his sad mountain village, unprepared, he crosses suffocating swamps infested with wild animals as he seeks to join his grandmother, an important woman who reigns over a vast palm grove.
However, the young man does not stop there.
He cannot explain why, but he continues on his way even further until he finally discovers a very mysterious place.
Later, as a new man-he is now a great master of sacred sounds-he returns to his homeland, entrusted with a strange mission: to fight the ancient demon that descends on Earth every new moon.
