A Hero of Ticonderoga is a historical fiction novel written by Rowland E. Robinson and published in 1898. The story is set in the late 18th century during the American Revolutionary War and follows the adventures of a young man named Ethan Allen. Allen is a farmer who becomes a leader in the Green Mountain Boys, a group of patriots who fight against the British in the northern colonies. The novel begins with Allen and his brother Ira being captured by the British and taken to Montreal. While in captivity, Allen meets a French spy named Jeanne, who helps him escape. Allen and Jeanne then travel to Ticonderoga, where they join forces with the Green Mountain Boys to capture the fort from the British.Throughout the novel, Allen and his comrades engage in battles with the British and face many challenges, including harsh weather conditions and limited resources. Along the way, Allen also struggles with his own personal demons, including his temper and his love for Jeanne.A Hero of Ticonderoga is a thrilling tale of adventure and heroism, set against the backdrop of one of the most important battles of the American Revolution. Through Allen's journey, the novel explores themes of loyalty, courage, and sacrifice, and offers a vivid portrayal of life during the Revolutionary War.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
