Through a season of self-reflection, she realized she was close to losing love. The brokenness and the pain of getting past previous relationships drove her to close the door to love again and allow herself to be truly loved. Even if everything in her wanted to slam the door shut and throw away the key, she couldn't do that. She had to keep the flame lit, at least in her mind. With each poem, she fueled the fire.
