The Hare or Hunting Incompatible with Humanity is a book written by Vernor and Hood in 1799. The book is a call to action for young people to treat animals with kindness and respect. The authors argue that hunting, particularly of hares, is cruel and incompatible with human values. They provide a detailed description of the hare's life and habits, and argue that it is a gentle and harmless creature that should not be subjected to the brutality of hunting. The book also includes a discussion of the moral and ethical implications of hunting, and encourages readers to consider the impact of their actions on the natural world. Overall, The Hare or Hunting Incompatible with Humanity is a powerful and thought-provoking book that challenges readers to reconsider their relationship with animals and the natural world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
