It chronicles a misspent youth sitting in cafe's ordering coffee in cafe's during various moments of unemployment. Boozing in morning afternoon or evening. Always moving and living trying to love and trying to make sense of life and find direction. The poet of course looks deep into lost loves and broken dreams and the loneliness of the hopeless poets life. The poetry covers several years in the poets life which are only semi in order of when they were written. The poetry maps out a poet trying to follow his muse and define his poetic vision working in varied styles and and influences, learning to express his inner emotions. The book also includes many photographs by the famous Canadian photographer, Jason Weedmark. The phots display some of the local artists in what was a thriving art scene in the city. The poet also includes poems about many of the people in the photos. the book overall gives a clear and picture of the poet in his young adulthood and his development of his poetic talents.
