The Hanging Man and Other Stories is a collection of 17 ghost, paranormal, and supernatural stories. Step into the macabre world of author Susan Buffum who counts Edgar Allan Poe and Shirley Jackson among her favorite authors. Her imagination has also been influenced by the art of the inimitable Edward Gorey. Susan draws a fine line between this world and the next, one that is crossed and crossed again throughout the stories in this collection. Her dark sense of humor is evident in Between, and she gives a passing nod to the reigning king of horror in The Ghoul Who Loved to Read. The Hanging Man is the author's first ghost/supernatural/horror story. It inspired her to draw the image that graces the cover of this volume of haunting tales.
