A Half Century Among The Siamese And The Lao: An Autobiography is a book written by Daniel McGilvary and published in 1912. The book is an autobiographical account of McGilvary's experiences as a Christian missionary in Thailand and Laos for over fifty years. The book recounts McGilvary's journey from his early days as a missionary in Thailand, where he learned the language and customs of the Siamese people, to his later years in Laos, where he worked to spread the gospel and establish Christian churches. Throughout the book, McGilvary shares his observations and insights into the culture and traditions of the Siamese and Lao people, as well as his experiences dealing with the challenges of missionary work in a foreign land. The book also includes a number of illustrations and photographs that provide a visual representation of the places and people that McGilvary encountered during his mission work. Overall, A Half Century Among The Siamese And The Lao: An Autobiography offers a unique perspective on the history and culture of Thailand and Laos, as well as an inspiring account of one man's dedication to his faith and his mission to share it with others. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
