What really happens when you open your mind? A terrifying loss of reality, the ultimate blissful surrender or something in between? When Laura Connochie flew to Jamaica for a week's psilocybin retreat, she had no idea what taking mushrooms would feel like or, more importantly, that she was starting a spiritual journey. At first looking for a cure for her migraines, instead the mushrooms spoke to her and gave her unimaginable insights on life, death and our infinite existence. Finally, they told her she must write a book and share these insights with others...

More and more people are turning to plant medicines and psychedelics in search of personal truth and happiness - but it helps if you know what you're getting into. Laura started writing up her journeys to integrate and give words to these enormous and ineffable experiences but, as her notes accumulated, she realized she was writing a book whose purpose was to document what it's like in the space to help others.

Dive into her mushroom journeys and go on an interdimensional adventure as you learn how their timeless wisdom and intelligence can help us all lead happier and more meaningful lives.

Laura Connochie is originally from Cornwall in the UK and now lives in Stroud in Gloucestershire. She's working on her fourth book, a sequel to What the Mushrooms Told Me, which she aims to publish in autumn 2025. Her two poetry collections, No Money in Poetry and Bread-and-Butter Beings, are also available on Amazon, and you can read more of her poetry on Instagram @amusenut.
