Gut the Ghost exists at the intersection of pain and possibility. Merritt's debut poetry collection navigates the complexity of coming to terms with and healing from trauma to find the love and tenderness we truly deserve. Gut the Ghost is a love letter to anyone who has faced unimaginable cruelty in the name of love and still made the choice to stay soft and leave their heart open, despite it all.
Catherine Merritt is a writer and the store manager of Petals & Pages, an independent bookstore in Denver, CO. Merritt's work explores themes of lesbian identity, healing, and above all, love. Her work has been previously published by Beyond the Veil Press and Twenty Bellows. Gut the Ghost is her debut poetry collection.
