One toke of dimethyltryptamine and immediately you are in another world. A world of rubies, emeralds and diamonds springing into existence from out of the walls. A world where sounds and spoken tongues coalesce, blend and channel with the flashing jewels into beautiful harmonies in a synesthesia gone insane. But this is nothing.
For there are creatures here. Entities. Elves. Call them what you will they are intelligent beings. Friendly and fun-loving but also mischievous, they remember you from previous trips and welcome you back.
What is this DMT world? Is it a hallucination, another dimension, an alternate reality? Who or what are these entities? How can they be considered fantasies or illusions when they manifest all the physical solidity of you and me?
A nurse. A dentist. A psychotherapist. Each will smoke DMT, have a sexual relationship with a patient and desperately seek answers to these questions as Gunge, the shape-shifting heartless leader of the elves insinuates himself further and further into their New York City lives.
