The Snowshoe cat is a unique and exotic breed developed from American Shorthair and Siamese cats. In the 1960s, breeder Dorothy Hinds-Daugherty set out to design a cat that shared the Siamese's outgoing nature and vocalizations with a more subdued, well-rounded appearance.
The coats of snowshoe cats, which are of a medium length, are short, smooth, and lustrous. They are primarily white, with dark ear, tail, and foot tips. The Siamese breed is distinguished by its strikingly blue eyes.
