Aury Treadway is bound for future glory in the fictional North American Hockey Alliance, and the downtrodden teen finally finds his soul mate in the form of Jennifer Carey. But Aury's dreams crash one by one -- Jennifer is forced to move away, and a devastating knee injury sends him into a downward spiral full of bad decisions. Twelve years later, Aury is a husband and expectant father with a shot at redeeming his pro hockey career when Jennifer reappears in his life. Aury's priorities are put to the test, and a lot depends on his ability to make good decisions. But where does his passion lie? A rollicking journey through the 1980s and a lesson in the demons of excess, along with a testament to the endurance of true love.
