Greece Revisited And Sketches In Lower Egypt In 1840: With Thirty-Six Hours Of A Campaign In Greece In 1825 by Edgar Garston is a travelogue that recounts the author's experiences during his travels to Greece and Egypt in the mid-19th century. The book is divided into two parts, with the first part detailing Garston's travels through Greece in 1825, during which he participated in a military campaign. The second part of the book describes his return to Greece in 1840, where he revisits some of the places he had previously visited and offers his observations on the changes that had taken place in the country over the years. Garston's vivid descriptions of the landscapes, people, and cultures he encounters in Greece and Egypt make for an engaging read. He provides detailed accounts of his experiences, including his encounters with local people, his observations on the architecture and customs of the regions he visits, and his reflections on the historical significance of the places he explores. Overall, Greece Revisited And Sketches In Lower Egypt In 1840: With Thirty-Six Hours Of A Campaign In Greece In 1825 offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of travel and exploration in the 19th century, and will appeal to readers with an interest in history, travel, and cultural studies. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
