It's easy to get grumpy when things don't go our way. Bologna sandwiches for supper, pesky younger brothers, impossible math problems - these are just a few of the things that make life so unfair! But there's actually a cure for the grumps, and it's not what one may think. It's easy to focus on ourselves when things get hard, but this usually leaves us frustrated and discouraged. The #1 cure for the grumps is by NOT focusing on ourselves, but by focusing on God and others instead. When we glorify God in the middle of our messes, our grumps don't stand a chance. Like Gwendolyn learns in this story, when you feel a storm a comin' and you're looking like a fright, find that light inside of you and shine it super bright. Give a hug, write a note, ask someone to play. And watch your special light scare the grumps away.
