This book was written with the intentions of helping young children gain some knowledge about people with visible disabilities and to help eliminate some of the fear that is sometimes associated with it. Having a family member suddenly stricken with a disability can be challenging to say the least. But getting the entire family to accept, adjust and assist is sometimes a more difficult challenge. Hopefully this book offers an opportunity for adults to dialogue with some of the youngest members of the family about this subject. This book also reminds adults that there is power in the voice of a child, I didn't know I could do that Children should be both seen and heard. They have a lot to say and we can learn from them as well.
