A magical story about the relationship between Sarah and her Grandad and the happy fun-filled days they share. This colourful picture book helps children talk about the loss of a loved one and is a useful tool for parents and teachers when supporting children at such a sensitive time. Bright, highly detailed illustrations encourage dialogue .The death of someone is a traumatic event; for children this can be especially difficult because of their inability to understand and articulate how they feel. This book recognises the anxiety that bereavement can create and encourages children to ask questions. It also offers an opportunity to teachers and carers to encourage them to convey their feelings.'Grandad' is a positive story and a good general introduction to a difficult subject both home and at school.
