Many sprayers who do not abandon graffiti as a temporary phase of
youthful rebellion, but have made it central - as name-writing - to
their now legal work, are reminiscent of the 20th century
Expressionists and their self-referential positions. Using the example
age, the author explores whether everything that Expressionism
originally represented and still stands for today can be rediscovered in
the brightly-coloured, expressive works of one of the best
name-writers.
