You know the stories, those pertaining to how folks in the Deep South countryside and Small Town America handled the circumstances of the depression era. Retired educator, professional musician, and amateur historian Mac McCraney remembers.
A boy and his dog,
A boy accidentally burning down the neighbor's fence,
and even derailing a train,
boys will be boys, and always have been. The author's recollections will take you back.
Goshen, Alabama, 1940s... About the author: In adulthood, becoming a much-loved English professor and then a civilian textbook writer for the USAF in Montgomery, Alabama, the stories of his youth will make you chuckle and reflect. Full of photos to enrich your trip.
