The Golden Children of Kemet is a children's storybook written for African kids aged 9-10, told through the voice of Luna - an imaginative 8-year-old star-gazer.
At its heart, the book does two things:
1. It teaches the Egyptian Neteru (divine principles) The Neteru aren't presented as distant mythological gods - they're explained as living forces and qualities that exist inside every person. The book covers:
- Ra - inner radiance and new beginnings
- Ma'at - truth, justice, and balance
- Thoth - wisdom, learning, and the love of knowledge
- Osiris - resilience and coming back from hardship
- Auset (Isis) - fierce love, magic, and protection
- Horus - courage and claiming what is rightfully yours
- Plus Nut, Geb, Sekhmet, Ptah, and Hathor
2. It builds confidence and pride in African children The book makes the point clearly and repeatedly: ancient Egypt (Kemet) was an African civilisation, built by dark-skinned people who looked like the children reading it. It tells them their ancestors invented writing, surgery, the calendar, and architecture that still stands 4,500 years later - and that Greek philosophers travelled to Africa to learn.
The tone is warm, direct, and empowering - like a wise grandmother speaking to a grandchild. Each chapter ends with a personal message from Luna connecting the ancient principle to the child's everyday life.
The goal is simple: by the last page, every African child who reads it should feel that they come not from nothing, but from everything.
