Goethe's Travels in Italy is a travelogue written by the famous German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, documenting his journey through Italy from 1786 to 1788. The book is divided into two parts: the first part describes his travels through Italy, including visits to cities such as Milan, Venice, Florence, and Naples. The second part of the book is focused on Goethe's second residence in Rome, where he spent a total of two years.Throughout the book, Goethe provides detailed descriptions of the art, architecture, and culture of Italy, as well as his personal experiences and reflections on the country. He also includes a series of fragments on Italy, which are short pieces of writing that explore various aspects of Italian life and culture.Goethe's Travels in Italy is considered a seminal work in the genre of travel writing, and has influenced many writers and artists who have followed in his footsteps. The book is also notable for its insights into Goethe's own artistic development, as he was deeply influenced by the art and culture of Italy and incorporated many of these influences into his own writing. This Is A New Release Of The Original 1883 Edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
