Glencannon And The Ailing Cockroach is a humorous novel written by Guy Gilpatric. The story follows the adventures of the title character, Glencannon, a retired British naval officer who now works as a freelance writer. In this particular tale, Glencannon finds himself in New York City, where he is hired by a wealthy socialite to investigate the disappearance of her prized cockroach, which she believes has been stolen. As Glencannon delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal that leads him to suspect that the cockroach may not have been stolen at all, but rather has simply died of natural causes. Along the way, Glencannon encounters a colorful cast of characters, including a shady private investigator, a bumbling police detective, and a beautiful young woman who may hold the key to the mystery.Filled with witty dialogue, clever plot twists, and plenty of laughs, Glencannon And The Ailing Cockroach is a delightful romp through the world of private investigation and social satire. Fans of classic mystery novels and humorous fiction will find much to enjoy in this charming and entertaining book.THIS 26 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: The Saturday Evening Post Stories, by Guy Gilpatric.
