Is scéal tairbheartach é An Spásaire Beag ar Shaturn atá deartha chun cabhrú le páistà a gcuid mothúchán a aithint, a ainmniú agus a ghlacadh, agus ag an am céanna cuireann sé léarscáil phraiticiúil mhagúil ar fáil do thuismitheoirà chun dul i ngleic le hamanna deacra, le sceimhleacha feirge, nó le tuirse a gcuid páistà gan brú.
Ag leanúint taiscéalaà beag a bhÃonn lán fuinnimh uaireanta agus trom cosúil le coméad uaireanta eile, gheobhaidh do pháiste amach nach bhfuil mothúcháin mhaith nó olc ann, ach gur bealach é gach mothúchán le insint dúinn cad iad na riachtanais atá ag an gcorp.
Nà scéal simplà é seo le cur a chodladh an leanbh san oÃche. Is cúntóir luachmhar é do gach tuismitheoir a ordaÃonn labhairt lena bpáiste faoi bhainistiú mothúchán, ag oscailt comhrá milis faoi ghlacadh an duine féin. Mar, ag deireadh an lae, tá gá ag gach duine - fiú ag na spásairà is láidre - le barróg, le beagán treorach agus le tuiscint ag gach céim.
Rugadh an leabhar seo as fÃor-riachtanas. ScrÃobh mé é nuair a thosaigh mo mhac ag tuiscint na mothúchán éagsúla atá againn agus a d'éirigh sé chomh scanraithe sin nach raibh a fhios aige conas iad a láimhseáil agus a shÃl sé go raibh mothúcháin mhaith agus olc ann. Bhà mé ag iarraidh a thaispeáint dó go bhfuil fáilte roimh gach mothúchán agus, go minic, nuair nach bhfuil a fhios againn conas iad a láimhseáil, go bhfuil ár máthair nó tuismitheoir éigin againn gar dúinn chun cabhrú linn.
Rinne mé mo dhÃcheall an leagan seo i nGaeilge a choinneáil lán le meas ar anam an scéil. Tá súil agam go maithfidh sibh aon earráidà daonna, go sroichfidh sé bhur lámha leis an ngrá céanna a scrÃobhadh é, agus go mbeidh sé ina chúis te chun dlúthbhaint nÃos mó fós a bheith agaibh le bhur bpáiste.
