A Girl of The Limberlost is a classic novel by Gene Stratton-Porter that tells the story of Elnora Comstock, a young girl who lives in the Limberlost swamp in Indiana in the early 20th century. Elnora is determined to attend high school, but her mother refuses to pay for her education, leaving Elnora to find a way to pay for it herself. She begins to collect and sell moths from the swamp, which leads her to meet a kind-hearted naturalist named Philip Ammon. As Elnora navigates the challenges of growing up in a difficult environment, she learns about love, sacrifice, and the power of determination. With vivid descriptions of the natural world and a strong emphasis on the importance of education, A Girl of The Limberlost is a timeless coming-of-age story that continues to captivate readers of all ages.1909. Early in the 1900s, a rural Indiana girl seeks to get an education and follow her dreams in spite of the obstacles that surround her.
