About the Author
Bob McKetchnie is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister. He and his wife, Dawn reside in Upton, Mass. Bob has been writing short stories and poetry for over 30 years. He has two short stories in anthologiespublished by Skinner House Press in Boston: Falling into the Sky (2013) and Bless the Imperfect (2014). About two years ago, Bob began exclusively writing poetry and now writes almost every day. He recently had
two poems published by Anomaly Poetry in its winter collection, Tidings (2025), and two poems published in
its summer collection, Rituals (2026). His other interests include being a grandfather, traveling, biking, hiking and birding. For the last four years, Bob has been an active member of the weekly writing group of the Unitarian Universalist
Retired Ministers and Partners Association where he has benefited from the critiques and encouragement of
writers from across the United States.Testimonial from Wayne Daniel Berard Bob McKetchnie's poems read like nature itself having finally found how to communicate with its wayward, difficult human children. Every word feels organic and just right; each line seems to twirl itself around the artifices we insist on building, not to overpower them but embrace them - and us. Gifts of the Morning Light is a scripture of incarnature, of the oneness of ourselves and the naturalness in which we live and move and have our being. Suggestion? Don't just armchair this book; take it outside and read it aloud - communication is the heart of any relationship. Wayne-Daniel Berard,
founding co-host of Pour Me a Poem reading series,
and author of New and Selected Poems, Metaphysical Fox Press, 2026.
