I give you the end of a golden string
Only wind it into a ball,
It will lead you in at Heaven's Gate
Built in Jerusalem's wall

William Blake

As a searching teenager, Anna faced head on the life questions that confront us all sooner or later. What are we here for? Is this all there is? An awareness of that golden thread of which Blake speaks so eloquently, began to mark her life.
Darker times are also included - her transition from doubt to belief, her cancer journey, her mother's untimely death through choking, and other less than happy times - all of this and much, much more is contained in this absorbing book.
Following that golden string has led Anna to significant spiritual riches - the creation of her five projects, a sojourn at St.George's House, Windsor Castle - and the launch of her writing career. She has produced moving articles for New Vision (journal of the Hamblin Trust), covering subjects such as Acceptance, Truth, Being and Doing and has also published two books. She includes a significant encounter indicating that we do survive physical death, and a memorable pre-retirement lecture by The Very Rev. Alex Wedderspoon, former Dean of Guildford Cathedral entitled: 'A Faith for the 21st century.' There is also an absorbing account of her encounter with HM The Queen.
'The Gift' is not so much an autobiography as an absorbing collection of images and influences that have shaped Anna's spiritual life - and it may well focus your own thoughts on what is shaping yours!
To read 'The Gift' is proof indeed that a real and valid Christian faith is a Gift - not a will-o-the wisp experience, but an empowering and uplifting strength within reach of all of us.
