The edited volume Between History and Philology brings together contributions by 16 renowned historians and philologists. It focuses on German-Polish-Austrian relations in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with particular emphasis on the region of Galicia. The contributors examine historical experiences, cultural transfers, linguistic influences, as well as literary and social discourses from an interdisciplinary perspective. In this way, the volume pays tribute to the scholarly work of Professor Isabel Röskau-Rydel, whose research productively interweaves history and philology and opens up new approaches to Central European history.
